A Journey of Legend
Loving is Caring
Thanksgiving Series: Love Bag Campaign

UAC continues to care for one of the groups hit hardest by COVID-19: seniors in nursing homes. For Thanksgiving, UAC delivered a total of 205 love bags to Sprain Brook Manor nursing home in Westchester County, New York – 80 for the staff and 125 for the residents.
Sprain Brook Manor, in the beautiful town of Scarsdale, has 121 beds and provides long- and short-term care and rehabilitation for its residents; a third of the beds are reserved for seniors with dementia and memory impairment.
The bags for the staff contained wet wipes, KN95 masks, snacks and a thank-you card. The bags for the residents contained soap, a love card and one of five small gifts: non-slip/warm socks, a word-search or sudoku book, body wash, a 2021/2022 two-year pocket calendar, or an elegant eyeglass chain. The thank-you and love cards this time were postcards designed and produced by UAC, each with a handwritten message of good wishes. The printed images came from the children’s drawings in our previous Love Bag campaign, used with the consent and support of all the parents and children – our sincere thanks to them.

UAC will keep organizing more activities to care for the elderly, and we hope to inspire more people to pass warmth and love on to those who need it most during the pandemic. Individuals or volunteer teams who would like to join, partner with or otherwise help can support UAC here.
