Let's Talk About Vaccines with Dr. Yuhong Xu

At 9 pm Eastern on Saturday, April 3, Dr. Yuhong Xu joins UAC’s online event series for “Let’s Talk About Vaccines“, sharing what we know about COVID-19 vaccines and answering your questions.

Dr. Xu graduated from the English-language medical program at Xiangya School of Medicine, earned a master’s degree in molecular biology at Cornell University in the US, and completed her residency at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 2005. She now practices emergency medicine in Cincinnati.
If you’re curious about any of the questions below, this talk is a great chance to get answers:

  1. How do the three COVID-19 vaccines currently available in the US (Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech and Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen) work, and what are their pros and cons?
  2. What side effects might follow vaccination, such as allergic reactions, fever and muscle aches?
  3. Common misconceptions about COVID-19 vaccines: Are they unsafe? Does an mRNA vaccine stay in the body long-term, change our genes and get passed on to our children? Can you still catch COVID-19 after being vaccinated?
  4. How long does protection last after vaccination, or after a COVID-19 infection?
  5. Who is currently eligible for the vaccine? Are there age limits, or restrictions for people with underlying or chronic conditions?
  6. Where can you get vaccinated? How do you contact a provider or book an appointment? How many doses do you need?

Friends in the US and abroad who are interested in these questions are welcome to join this UAC online session. Event details:
